One of the most efficient instruments to succeed at anything at all is to understand first what your definition of it is. Suppose you’d like to become a leader. In this case before you become one you need to know what it means to #BE A LEADER. Who is this person and what is it about? How is it different from e.g. a top manager?

LEADERS ARE PEOPLE WITH VISION. THEY INSPIRES PEOPLE.

Their devotion to this idea, the energy seem to be contagious for their team. The vision comes first and then the money. While the manager serves the vision of the management and doesn’t necessarily inspire people.

A LEADER MAKES THE RULES.

He sees himself as the author of the game. He defines the limits and the context he’s operating in. At its core his vision is free of circumstances. While the manger follows the rules and the context defined for him.

PEOPLE FOLLOW THE TRUE LEADER OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL.

They recognize a certain quality in him that they believe he’s the best at. Therefore they give him full trust and the authority freely. While the manager is appointed by the management. He can be a good one but doesn’t necessarily has the authority of a leader.

A LEADER TAKES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RISKS HE TAKES.

Also when it goes wrong. While a manager takes as least as possible risks. Not taking risks in order to realize his vision, being a gatekeeper of processes is coming out of the comfort zone for a leader. While for a manager taking risks means coming out of the comfort zone.
